Explore a vast, colorful open world in this game

Outbound is a simulation game. It is an open-world exploration and survival game set in a beautifully realized near-future utopia. Players start with an empty camper van and transform it into a self-sustaining mobile home. Whether traveling solo or with up to four friends in co-op, the game emphasizes customization, sustainable living, and discovery.

In Outbound, with a modular building system, players can design their camper exactly how they want, decorating and upgrading it into a comfortable home on wheels. The game world is vast and filled with diverse biomes, from lush forests to arid deserts.

Harness the power of nature

In Outbound, players must harness renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and hydroelectric power to keep their van running. Scavenging materials, crafting tools, and growing crops are essential to survival. Farming plays a key role, as players can cultivate plants, mushrooms, and herbs, using them to cook meals that provide important stat boosts. As players explore, they’ll come across hidden ruins, abandoned settlements, and remnants of past civilizations.

The non-linear structure allows for complete freedom in how to progress. While there are objectives and challenges, the entire game is designed to be a meditative and relaxing experience. The colorful, stylized graphics create a warm and inviting world that feels both futuristic and grounded in nature. Building and upgrading the camper is one of the game’s most rewarding aspects.

Players can install solar panels, water filtration systems, and even craft furniture to make their space feel truly unique. The sense of ownership and creativity keeps the gameplay fresh, with endless possibilities for how to live off-grid. Co-op multiplayer enhances the experience, allowing friends to work together, trade resources, and explore side by side. However, some crafting mechanics can be tedious

In Softonic we scan all the files hosted on our platform to assess and avoid any potential harm for your device. Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.

We’d like to highlight that from time to time, we may miss a potentially malicious software program. To continue promising you a malware-free catalog of programs and apps, our team has integrated a Report Software feature in every catalog page that loops your feedback back to us.

Flag any particular issues you may encounter and Softonic will address those concerns as soon as possible.
